October 24, 2012 Bento


Today’s bento is a crisp salad with a side of organic miso soup.


 
The salad is a combination of iceberg and green leaf lettuce.  The accompanying veggies are carrots, radishes, and grape tomatoes.  The salad was topped with yummy red wine and olive oil vinaigrette.
Why organic miso soup?  Because that happens to be the box I picked up.

October 22, 2012 Bento


Wow, 20 days since my last bento post!  I am such a slacker…

I finally got my Maneki Neko bento box from Japan and am super excited to fill it with food!  The bottom layer consists of a green leaf salad with grape tomatoes, carrots, and radishes.  Upon eating, the salad got topped with a red wine and olive oil dressing.  The top layer consists of steamed brown rice.

I balanced out the meal with a cup of organic miso soup (not shown in picture).

October 2, 2012 Bento


It’s Tuesday and I wish that my lunch consisted of tacos; maybe for dinner!

My super yummy (and healthy) bento today consists of a cute green salad.  The salad is romaine lettuce, carrots, radishes, and cucumber.  I am giving myself a healthy dose of vitamin C with strawberries and kiwi.  I wanted some crunch, so I added in a serving of Asian trail mix – love wasabi peas!

October 1, 2012 Bento


Yes, it’s been a while since I’ve posted one of my wonderful bento creations.  That is because it has been a while since I put one together.

Even though we are in the autumn season, I still seem to run with a summer theme when it comes to my bento cravings.  Today’s bento lunch consists of sliced cucumbers with radish.  On the side I have sweet kiwi and luscious strawberries.

September 7, 2012 Bento


Today’s bento stays with the light, summery theme of this week.  The main component of my bento is a mixture of sweet blueberries and strawberries.  I couldn’t let them be the only sweetness, so I added a kiwi.  To balance, or cleanse, my palate, I’ve included cucumber slices.
