August 28, 2012 Bento

Last night I cooked a lot of quinoa, so I’ll be set for the rest of the week!  If you have never had quinoa before, I would recommend that you try it.  Quinoa is a seed that is prepared like whole grains, like rice or millet.  Quinoa cooks quickly (you can even cook it in a rice cooker – which is my preferred method), and it is high in protein.

My bento today was central around my abundance of quinoa.  I mixed quinoa with red kidney beans to be the main part of my lunch.  I also included red seedless grapes as well as dried tropical pineapple with vanilla yogurt-covered raisins.
